Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” LAS VEGAS SHOW RESIDENCY CONTINUES ON in the “Modern Showrooms Las Vegas” at Alexis Park Resort Hotel.
Neil Diamond is one of the best-selling and most iconic singer/songwriters in pop/rock music history.
Besides being one of the best-selling and most successful live artists ever, he’s also created and performed the songs of a generation — including some of the most famous songs on the planet.
In early 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond announced his retirement from performing after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
However, Diamond’s on-stage legacy continues to be kept alive for audiences throughout the world through longtime Las Vegas performer Rob Garrett, widely regarded as the top Neil Diamond tribute artist.
Ask Alexa “who is the best Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll always hear Rob Garrett.
Like his musical hero, Rob Garrett was born in Brooklyn, NY.
In May 1974, his parents moved the family from New York City to Las Vegas, where, two years later, he witnessed his first live Neil Diamond show when Diamond made his attendance-breaking Las Vegas debut at the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts (now “PH Live”) in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him 16 more times birthday celebration Las Vegas Neil Diamond tribute across the country—right up until Diamond’s final U.S. concert at the Los Angeles Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett started his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a successful 15-year run in Las Vegas and across the nation before deciding to move from cover band frontman to a full-time tribute performer dedicated to one of his musical idols.
In 1995, Garrett was personally hired by Paul Revere, leader of “The Raiders” to portray Neil Diamond in the world-famous “Legends in Concert” review.
What was meant to be a limited run turned into a three-year success.
By August 1998, Garrett returned home to Las Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to launch his own show.
He began a steady touring schedule, building a strong worldwide fan community along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds.”
He continues to perform to sold-out venues nationwide, often in venues reserved for national acts.
Garrett has also earned several honors, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since Neil Diamond retired, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19th officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating Rob’s 50 years as a Las Vegas resident and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in this year, Garrett celebrates 45 years on stage in Las Vegas, with the last three decades devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has played in more Vegas rooms than any peer.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the nation’s sole ongoing Neil Diamond tribute show.
Alexis Park Resort Hotel is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., about a quarter mile from Paradise Road.
